The Region 5 EMS for Children Pediatric Assessment Challenge is a team-based pediatric simulation competition held during the EMS for Children Cookout on May 20, 2026, at Piedmont Macon North Hospital.
This supportive and engaging challenge emphasizes:
- Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT)
- Teamwork and communication
- Recognition of clinical deterioration
- Patient and caregiver interaction
- Clinical decision-making and transport considerations
Competition tracks include:
- Provider Teams
- Student Teams
- Junior Teams
Teams will participate in realistic pediatric-focused simulation scenarios designed around the first critical minutes of patient care.
The first six competing teams to register by May 7, 2026, will receive VIP incentive tickets to the July 4 Macon Bacon “R5TRAUMA Night” game.
